German soccer team to wear special jerseys after anti-Semitism

The German soccer team Ingolstadt will wear jerseys with an anti-fascist message in response to anti-Semitic abuse targeting its Israeli captain, Almog Cohen, The Associated Press reported Saturday.

On March 8, Cohen received a message via Twitter from an apparent Union Berlin fan calling the player a "Jewish brute" and demanding he be sent "to the chamber."

The message was sent after Union's 2-0 home win, a game with eight yellow cards and two reds in which Cohen was sent off, noted AP.

The club wrote on Twitter on Saturday that its main sponsor has agreed to let it carry the message "Right-wing? Only in a 4-3-3!" on the front of its jersey for its game at Paderborn on Sunday.

The tweet includes the hashtags #SayNoToRacism and #SayNoToAntisemitism.

Union issued a statement after the incident in which it said its win was overshadowed by the "disgusting anti-Semitic tweet" sent to Cohen.

The club, based in Koepenick in eastern Berlin, said it was aware of racist incidents in its stadium but that they were seldom reported to security or prosecuted.

Cohen later thanked all sides for the support he received.

"As a Jewish football professional in Germany, let me just say: I am very proud of my roots and to represent my country in the second division, and to lead Ingolstadt as captain. And that in a country where I've lived for nine years and that I appreciate for its openness," Cohen wrote on Twitter.

In recent years, there have been several anti-Semitic incidents during soccer games in Europe....

Europeans are peons. An aggregate Peter Pan.

I understand your two statements (sorta), but I don't understand them in the context of this article about the special soccer jerseys.

Would you please elaborate on your position?

Regards,

I’m going to guess that the Germans have countless social policies one could consider “fascist” if one thinks about it. Do they have “Hate crime” laws? Do they censor people who speak up about the Climate Change hoax or against abortion? Do they hush people who speak the truth about their Muslim invaders?

How do they propose to have an anti-fascism message rather than an anti anti-semitism message that isn’t in it’s own way fascist?

I’m so tired of feel-good virtue signalling that has no intelligence behind it.

So they are blaming the “right wing” for this. I assue they mean a bad old white German did this. Perhaps. I can’t believe Muslim players or fans are full of love for a player named “Cohen.”

Do they even address Muslim hatred of Jews at all?

Stupid team. Again, anti-semitism is coming from the leftists, not the ring wing. More propaganda to deal with.

So a group of Germans is willing to condemn anti-Semitism but the US democrat party won't?

Read the end of the article, with all the anti-Jewish incidents at soccer stadiums all over the EU. I remember the Euro-cup showdown between France and Portugal a few years ago. It was an awesome, dramatic game, and even though I’m not a sports person, I had a great time watching it at a soccer party at a neighbor’s house. But the people actually at the games—not just in Germany, but all over Europe!—just can’t stop dumping on Jews, of all people, in the context of soccer. WTF is wrong with Europeans. You’d think they’d be over all this BS by now, but nooo. They can’t even watch a soccer match without getting into it. Just one of the many reasons I never set foot outside an airport when traveling and stopping in Europe.

Never acknowledge it. The kosher market attack in Paris, and the Islam-is-our-friend love fest afterwards was the very worst.

I’ve met French Jews who can’t be persuaded to make aliya, who speak excellent Hebrew. Crazy is a word that comes to mind.

I regret to say it, but they are. We’re through the looking glass already, and they’re still living in wonderland.
