Everybody has grievances that have merit. Not everyone walks into a building and starts shooting people.
I read the whole mind-blisteringly stupid thing. I think if I read something written by nearly any Leftist that was that long, I am sure I could find a view that isn't far from my own views on some thing or another, but...I wouldn't classify that as "common ground". Just because they like Cheerios and I like cheerios, or they like drinking ice water when they are thirsty and I do too, that doesn't mean I agree with their core principles.
I don't think you are sticking up for him. I just reject the concept that any specific thing he says that has merit justifies him in any action he has done.
