Paris (AFP) – The Champs-Elysees avenue in Paris was a sea of black and yellow on Saturday as black-clad anarchists used a “yellow vest” rally to run amok, looting shops and torching businesses in scenes reminiscent of the riots that shook the city late last year.
“There are people and there is action. It reminds me of December!” a young protester shouted triumphantly as flames billowed from a bank and thick black smoke rose from burning barricades erected along the famed avenue.
The demonstrator was referring to December 1, when protesters went on the rampage in Paris, smearing the Arc de Triomphe war memorial in graffiti in a frenzy of vandalism, looting, and arson.

Wasn’t it Walter Cronkhite who complained that the cobblestones were being paved over, and the “anti-war” “protestors” in Paris would be unable to pull them up to use as weapons on the police?
I would have agreed with you a few years ago.
Now, the Germans cannot achieve order within their own country, having allowed Muslim ‘immigrants’ to take over and ruin numerous old small hamlets.

One of the main slogans of 1968 was 'underneath the street, the beach'. Meaning, literally that when the students lifted the cobble stones to throw at the police, there was sand underneath. Metaphorically what was meant was what the students were actually looking for was - less of the drudgery of work - and more play and leisure.

Post 5 “A genuine protest against taxes hijacked by commies.” is correct. It started as a populist, citizens protest and has devolved into anarchy, nihilism and radical socialist-communist rioters. The French government has to speak to its honest citizens and ask for support to reestablish order. Explain that it understands the taxes and costs of overdoing the move to green energy were overdone but those fixes must wait for order to be restored. The police and army has to take back the streets and rioters will be arrested.
