They are finishing the backfilling of the spillway walls, tying in the ogee weir to the new emergency spillway structure, breaking down the portable concrete plants, removing the temporary work roads, and restoring and replanting the landscape (slated to take 2 years). I’m sure there’s more but that’s the view from 40,000 ft.
the spillway this time cannot fail in the same way, it is now concrete down to bare rock, with a heavily reinforced surface layer. there is no soil tosuction erode from under it.
Ah. Gotcha. I did notice an obvious temporary road at the foot of the spillway.
