It began as an operation targeting a cocaine ring in southern New Jersey. But after investigators listened to a wire tap, the case took on an unexpected focus: do-it-yourself firearms made from parts easily found online.
The suspects in New Jersey are accused of trying to sell several homemade AR-15 assault-style rifles that are known as ghost guns because they cannot be tracked. The AR-15 rifle is a powerful weapon similar to the one used to kill 11 people last year at a Pittsburgh synagogue.
On Monday, New Jersey law enforcement officials announced the arrests of four men who became the first defendants charged under a law passed last year

Shocking!
It’s almost like criminals don’t give a crap about the law.
I am glad they caught these guys, but wow! There is no slant to this story is there?
Manufacturing a firearm is fairly easy with those with some machine shop skills and a few basic machining tools.
Why bans will never work. Even discounting smuggling guns with the hundreds of tons of drugs that are smuggled into America.
Did they have .30 caliber clips?
Don’t get this.
Smuggle gun parts or fully assembled guns INTO Pennsylvania.
Where these guns are LEGAL and are half the price.
Oh wait - criminals don’t obey gun laws!!!!!

“Law enforcement officials eventually recovered six AR-15 rifles made from parts without serial numbers, which were being offered on the black market for $1,100 to $1,300, nearly double the market price for an AR-15 assault-style rifle. They also intercepted parts for two more assault-style rifles that had been shipped to Pennsylvania.”
You can buy them in PA. why would you have to smuggle them into PA.
More BS trying to boost the anti gun agenda.
Not exactly sure how clips are measured.
You go to some of the websites, they offer you discounts if you buy a pack of five or a pack of 10, said J. Adam Skaggs, the chief counsel and policy director at the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. Now, you ask yourself, am I going to buy a discounted 10-pack of ghost guns because I want to build myself 10 guns to use at the range? Or am I going to buy a 10-pack if Im a would-be trafficker who wants to start a little factory of my own and sell these at a markup to people who cant pass a background check?
You are such a POS.
You buy in bulk so you can learn from the 1st one or two and maybe build a second rifle.
Most people I know have bought in bulk for that reason and only ever made one rifle.

Sounds like a fishing expedition.
The warrant covered one thing, and they found another.

The AR-15 rifle is a powerful weapon
Not compared to my 30:06
But did they do background checks??
LOL. That’s good.
I know the red flags go up with my wife.
Or my M1A. Typical NY slimes garbage reporting .
Laughing at the AR15 being called powerful.
Its a fine weapon, but power is not its thing.
Criminals are caught breaking the law so the left and the msm decide that the best way to fix this is to pass new laws which will either disarm law abiding citizens or turn them into felons.
One of the weapons had one of those barrel shroud thingys on it, and God help us a bayonet lug.
