Just a small observation....
....I have been active at different leves in my county for many years in the Republican Party

During the 2016 run up I became so disillusioned and disgusted with them I lost hope they would change......as they were so tepid and dismissive of Donald Trump......They campaigned listlessly, IMO.
But he did win Florida !

However in Western North Carolina they were on fire for him.......worked their hearts out and helped bring him over the top late that night!

All this to say.....I’ve returned to the fold in my county and it is night and day!
Now they are on fire for him!
‘‘Tis a glorious thing to behold.

“I am so disappointed in you now that I can hardly speak,” Wanda Martens, the party committee’s events chairwoman, wrote in an email to Blunt’s office obtained by The Kansas City Star. “Why could you not support my president in the emergency declaration? President Trump tried every available means to work the Senate to resolve the border issue and build the much needed wall. He is well within his presidential powers to do this.”

I feel the same way.

People only on Free Republic know the following:

1. Trump would easily win a popular vote contest by campaigning in huge stadiums in California, Illinois and New York.
2. Trump would easily garner the 16 year old voters, and infact bring them to the GOP.
3. Truth be known that Latinos and Blacks love Trump and will vote for him.
4. Latinos in this country want a wall, long and tall.
5. Trump is like no other, ever unless you go back 100 years or more.
6. I think of the weak presidents before the civil war. That brought us past the tipping point. Same today.

Sounds like a huge invitation by the Missouri GOP for one of its members to primary this RINO out of office. Winning!

They had six years to take votes against Obamas emergency declarations. I think he had like 9 of them while in office. The Republican house and senate never took a vote to cancel any of them. Why weren’t they worried about the power of the purse for those emergency declarations. So full if sh!t it stinks to high heaven.

I want you to know that I helped get you elected into the Senate, and don't appreciate the back stabbing by you.

Are you and the other republican posers paid by and owned by someone?
who's your daddy?

Good! National Security is one of the few things the Federal Govt is actually supposed to act upon.

This situation has been building for a long time. I understand the arguments being made by eGOP RINOs. Unfortunately, they ring hollow.

The specific circumstances leading up to this situation - the physical swarming of the border to overwhelm it and the valiant, dedicated LEOs trying to defend it - can be traced directly back to Congressional inaction and ill-will. While we might be tempted to focus exclusively on the Democrats - and they deserve that attention - the past behavior of the eGOP/RINOs should be noted as well. Specifically, their non-support of this President generally and in the repeated failure of Congress when under GOP control to take any action to seriously address deficiencies in existing immigration law and its interpretation/implementation. Failure to exercise the “nuclear option” in the Senate is just a convenient excuse to absolve themselves of not doing the difficult work of their jobs as legislators.

I’d be more inclined to support their vote if each had delivered a truly paint-blistering speech in the well of the Senate prior to the vote that:

1. Unequivocately denounced their legislative inaction,
2. Stated that this vote to uphold the “power of the purse”/defend the co-equality of branches of government/forestall future potential Presidential power to abuse was a one time event, and
3. It would not be repeated when the override vote came up later on.
