The M1A1 is very difficult to move around, primarily ocean freighters and heavy lift seaports. This location is very central to the most active theaters.

They build 95%, including the engines. We supply the fire control, electronics and communication for them to install.
There are a lot of very good people in Egypt, but the country has many hard working but poor people of different faiths. It is in a critical location for ocean-going vessels and is positioned on and near major landmasses. Russia would like to replace us there for those reasons.
I’m surprised.
Those Lycoming turbines were lousy when built in the US.
I can only imagine what they’re like mfg by Egyptians.
Okay. Makes sense from a purely logistical point of view.
