Four police officers conspired to fabricate evidence to put a man in prison for the rest of his life and then they perjured themselves in court and what will they get for their crimes? A nice comfy pension.

Disgusting.

Just as bad as Mueller let 4 innocent men rot in prison for a murder he knew they did not commit. But, but he is a man of the highest integrity. Two died in prison and a multi million $ payouts.

Sorry...that’s BS. Should the cops who did this go to prison? Absolutely! Should the guy have gotten *some* restitution for what happened? Absolutely! Should he have gotten $13 million? No way,Jose!

Right. It's not enough. And it should come from the Police pension fund and the personal assets of the police officers and prosecutors responsible for this travesty of justice. And the perpetrators should spend the rest of their natural lives in prison.

Jamal Trulove, an aspiring actor and hip-hop artist, spent more than eight years behind bars after being sentenced to life in prison in 2010 in connection with the 2007 slaying of a friend and neighbor of his at a city housing project.

Well DUH! Everyone knows an aspiring actor and hip-hop artist can't be guilty. They are turning their lives around and they go by their street name...

Dindu Nuffin.

After you spend eight years in prison for something the police knew you didn’t do then get back to me on what you think is a fair settlement.

My take.

It wouldn’t be enough if it was me that got put away. Not with a “1” in front and a “0” afterward. Personally I wouldn’t be happy with anything short of breaking each of those badged thugs on the wheel.

Let the cops finish his sentence for him. As a cost saving measure we can just put then in general pop.

Me too, 13 million is pretty low. 800 million would be more appropriate. How much would you want to give up 8 years of your life behind bars as well as get stabbed in the process?

We had a guy here in Tucson; wrongly convicted of burning down the Pioneer Hotel and in jail for 42 years. Everyone knew he was just a very dumb guy used as a scapegoat. The judge of the trial didn't think he was guilty and tried until he died to get him out; also sending him Christmas packages every year.

Louis Cuen Taylor took a deal to get out of prison with "no contest" and get nothing. That's a travesty as well but at least he's out now.

So San Francisco CANNOT put the known murderer of Kate Steinle away, but they CAN fabricate evidence against an innocent man. Nice town.
