Judge blocks oil-drilling in Wyoming because of climate change

An outrageous ruling from a federal judge will halt hundreds of oil and gas drilling projects across 500 square miles in Wyoming because he says the government did not adequately take into account climate change when granting the leases on public lands.

Talk about out-of-control Judiciary.

NBC News:

U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras in Washington appeared to go a step further than other judges in his order issued late Tuesday.

Previous rulings focused on individual lease sales or permits. But Contreras said that when the U.S. Bureau of Land Management auctions public lands for oil and gas leasing, officials must consider emissions from past, present and foreseeable future oil and gas leases nationwide.

Once again proof that some people succeed to higher levels of power despite being total fidiots. Has anyone issued a bench warrant for this assclown. Oh, I musta forgot it's not illegal to be stoopid. Apparently the judge wants the BLM to hire Karnak to foresee future happening.

The position of “federal judge” needs to be done away with entirely.

All.

Remember in the 2016 campaign Trump gave a speech where we said we are governed by idiots (in so many words). You see prove in the correctness of his statement every day.

The name Contreras sounds familiar. Was he the judge that was good social friends with Peter Strozk? The one Strozk talked to Lisa about manipulating, but pointing out that it had to be carefully done, because the judge was a stickler for appearances.

Posting and checking (yeah, I know, the order is wrong).

Was there a legal basis (stretched or bogus or not) allowing the judge to point to “global warming” as being on some list of allowable reasons for a judge to stop an action?

Does some law, e.g., require developers in this circumstance to do an “environmental impact study” or a “racial disparity study” or a “school district busing alignment” or “minority business owner preference” study or some other LEGALLY DEFINED compelled work by the developer?

Citing witchcraft would have made more sense than this nonsense. We have returned to the 17th Century.

So, what is being done to curb these rascals, -at least to limit their damage to the district they are in? This has been going on for at least two years and all we get is hand wringing....

we have some subversive “judges” that are no different than the autocracy that led to the French revolution and the deployment of Mr. Guiolltine’s fine invention

And Contreras was designated in May 2016.

Interesting timing that.

Agreed.

At least we hold the top court now.

I’m no religious scholar.

Is it ok for Christians to pray RBG dies while Trump is in office?

I thought judges were supposed to rule on the law. What law is being broken? Whom is litigating?

There should be no authority recognized unless there’s been a lawsuit and the judges ruling sides with shutting things down.

I don’t believe the judge has ever been given the authority to just blinding make rulings out of thin air because it is what they want. It can’t be that easy to be a dictator in the USA, because that’s what this is.

You could say to shutdown all power plants for the same reason.

What judges should stop is IMMIGRATION! That’s what causes the need for oil...oh...and causes global warming too.

Yep. You got it. I saw that name (the first thing I look for in many of these things, I look them up to see who appointed them and what kind of decisions they have been involved in) and I saw it was the same guy who was on intimate terms with both Lisa Page and Strozk...

In one of their texts:

LISA PAGE: “I can’t imagine either one of you could talk about anything in detail meaningful enough to warrant recusal..."

PETER STROZK:“Really?  ‘Rudy, I’m in charge of espionage for the FBI.’ Any espionage [warrant request that] comes before him, what should he do? Given his friend oversees them?”
