They never had that many guns to start with. Most of what they have are .22 rifles and shotguns. They have very few pistols.

A fair number of centerfire rifles, lots of those with excellent optics. But we are talking about enough to field maybe 1 million militia with substandard arms. They may have a couple hundred rounds of ammo per rifle...

There are only 25 million Australians altogether.

China could, if it wished, field an army of 25 million.

Right now, they do not have the means to project an army like that across the ocean...

It seems more likely China will dominate commercially, then demand, slowly and subtly that Australia allow more and more Chinese immigration.

In my opinion, Chinese land buyers are what is driving land prices in Australia to record levels.

Houses in Australia cost 2-4 times what a similar house would cost in the USA.
