Don’t know if you still live in AK. The “homeless” have set up camps all over the city greenways and parks. It looks pretty much like Seattle. You would think the cold would make that untenable but apparently not. The city council and leftist mayor want to make more warm shelters for them and feed them. “Drunk Natives”! That comment would get you thrown in jail down there. You can never say what everyone already knows. Decriminalize drugs? Alaska legalized pot and has the most lenient crime laws in the nation. First time car theft is a slap on the wrist. BTW Wasilla used to be the conservative bastion of the state. That is changing too.

I left in 2002 and moved to Idaho where conservatives rule. There are a few leftards but they are insignificant. People complain about all of the Californians moving in but in my experience most of them are very conservative and don’t want what happened to their former home to happen here.

Moved from Wasilla to Sterling in 1994. That was nice while it lasted but I finally got tired of all of the cold weather. It’s not like Idaho is all that much warmer but it does have 4 seasons. This winter we had almost as much snow as the winter of 89-90 in Wasilla but at least there were no -35* temps.

Alaska has a checkered political past. Uncle Ted had his fingers in every pie but he did it for Alaska, the Murkowski family is the worst kind of crooked RINOs, and the Begich family is the worst kind of crooked leftards. The Native corporations are addicted to handouts and wield way too much political power. You may have a pretty good governor now; time will tell.
