There’s the question of compensating people who are being forced out of business. Government can’t just shut down your private insurance company without paying them the fair market value of their property and other assets.
The Constitution’s fair takings clause would put the kibosh on MFA before it would even get off the ground.
You can’t shut down an entire sector of the economy and have the government run it. That’s just a leftist wet dream.
