I served 8 years in the USN (1965-72). I arrived in Vietnam on July 4, 1967 three weeks prior to the incident. I don't buy your assertion that McCain's father influenced the investigation of the incident. It was certainly a big deal at the time given the number of deaths and the destruction involved. The investigation had to be scrupulous and thorough. I don't buy that there was command influence.

There are many other legitimate things to dislike McCain about, but this isn't one of them. Bringing it up just diminishes valid criticisms that are based on unassailable facts.

I see it’s so much down here especially with so many third worlders .
you see Hispanics voting for Hispanics blacks voting for blacks and sometimes it gets into the religious overtones as well

I absolutely agree, McCain was a soldier, he was a POW, in this Vietnam war he server his country. After that service the real McCain comes out. And this McCain was a Russian bot, a shyster, a man who fellow Republicans chastised.

And of coarse he was a RINO, that many here said we should vote for, why, because he was better than the alternative.

I also served on a helicopter carrier (LPH) that operated off the coast of Vietnam with a Marine battalion on board to make landings along the coast. Fire at sea is one of the most dreaded things to happen given all of the ammo and fuel onboard. And being trapped below decks could be a death warrant.

A good friend of mine was on the USS Oriskany when it caught fire in 1966. He was in his stateroom and escaped in the nick of time. One of his fellow officers didn't take it as seriously and never got out.

McCain was also a neocon who advocated a military solution for every problem. He was dangerous. Lindsey Graham has taken up the cudgel after the departure of McCain. Trump should eschew his advice on foreign policy.

As well as content regarding ongoing investigations and classified material.

by demanding everything is released and knowing that some information will never see the light of day, it allows them to continue the lie of “coverup” and malfeasance.
