Flynn WAS an early and necessary target for the people in the Obama administration who weaponized the NSA for the purpose of spying on the Trump campaign.

Most of Trump’s early advisors had no experience in DC swamp or the intelligence world. Flynn had been in intelligence all his career in the military. He was sure to pick up on the lawlessness, especially since the head of the NSA was waiting on the inauguration to reveal all to the new President. So by attacking Flynn first, they got rid of him as a power player and effectively gagged him.
