I understand Cronos...and you make a good point.

The fight for Irish independence should never have been and must never continue as a “holy war”… Irish independence is about Irish independence.

Having England in your country… Is like having your next-door neighbor live in your house and help you and your wife decide the best way for you to live. It’s simply would never work for you....… Has never worked and Will never work for the Irish.

Ireland is for the Irish. It’s time for Britain to leave.

Correct. The first President of Ireland was Protestant and some of the leading lights of the independence movement in the late 1800s were Protestant.

The thing is that, just as in Poland, being Catholic and being Irish/Polish was the same thing because some (note: SOME) Protestants acted in favor of the occupying power.

in Ireland it was further complicated by the fact that many of the northern Irish are actually descendents of Scots (and further complicated by the fact that many Irish republicans have Scottish ancestry!! And further further complicated by the fact that the Scotti were originally an Irish tribe that invade Albia around the 5th century!!! I love how weird history gets!)
