Why must we do that? I heartily wish them the best of luck, but we give them billions of dollars in weapons and cash and get little or nothing in return. I hope we don’t shed blood on Israel’s behalf in addition to the moola, considering that they’ve never bothered to help us out with our various wars in their vicinity.

“Why must we do that” Because God said so.

If I recall that’s pretty much the way obama treated Israel.

But lets play that scenario out.

Israel is a postage stamp in a football field of enemies. Israel does seek peace despite how the media portrays them.

How can Israel maintain peace with an ideology continuing to scream death to Israel, death to America?

So lets consider what would happen if we abandon Israel and tell the world we’re out. Israel is on their own. If America abandons Israel who will stand beside her?

How long before nuclear armed Israel is surrounded and backed in a corner? At what point do we decide to intervene? Before Armageddon or after? At what point do we get dragged back into conflict and at what greater cost?

I as a Christian view Israel Biblical. When God called Abraham out of Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan, He made a Covenant with the seed of Abraham.

God also gave this edict:

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him who curses you: and in you shall all families of the Earth be blessed.

Lets take that a step further. Matthew chapter 25 speaks of those nations who involve themselves in these last days with Israel. Be they friends or foes of Israel. Referred to as goat nations or sheep nations. God will judge nations according to how the nations treat Israel.

We must have Israel’s back. Not only because it’s Biblical, but also because it’s the right thing to do.

There was a young advisor by the name of Clark Clifford, who wrote a letter to President Truman 71 tears ago advising him to vote yes in the United Nations vote to recognize Israel as a nation. He called him in, having never before met this young advisor. And asked Mr. Clifford why we should stand beside Israel. His answer, “Because Mr. President, it’s the right thing to do.”

Following that discussion with Mr. Clifford, he excused him. Went to his desk and pulled out bis mothers Bible and flipped it open. It opened to the Scripture Genesis 12:3. Minutes later he was on the phone with the U.S. delegate to the U.N. who was waiting for his call. He relaid his answer, and that yes vote was a fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy. The Fig Tree from that time begun to blossom.

If your unsure of the reference to the Fig Tree, consult Matthew 24, Luke 21, or Mark 15. The fig tree is Israel. After 2,000 years Israel is once again flourishing. But the Times of Jacobs troubles, (the seventieth week) is soon to come. It’s described in Matthew 24:21-22

24:21 “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

24-22 “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”

But before that Scripture comes to pass, there will be a false 7yr covenant signed between Israel and the antichrist concerning a false sense of security.

See Daniel 9:24-27, as well as 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

5:1 “But of the times and the seasons, Brethren, you have no need that I write unto you.”

5:2 “For yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.”

5:3 “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; (see Daniel 9:27) then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

As for the outcome of the question you asked, Revelation 19:15-21 describes what happens when all nations abandon Israel and an army of 200 million march against Israel when the river Euphrates is dried up. That possibility never existed until these modern days.

This will all culminate with the return of Jesus Christ to Earth where He will set up his 1,000 year Millennial Kingdom Reign.

Note, in the religion threads I posted a link to a four part series describing these last day events (concerning the Church Age Dispensation) and entering into the 7 year great tribulation period soon to come. Look for the “Thief in the Night” thread.
