I’ll believe it when I see it.

Personally I believe he called their bluff with threats to declassify/release highly incriminating stuff, and a mutual stand-down was then negotiated.

Art of the Deal.

I too have thought of that scenario. For sake of the country, I hope it's not the case.

At some point, we'll know.

I disagree. The intel involved other countries. Spying on Trump. The Dems were going to scream “harms national security” and the GOP wasn’t going to support him on that. So in the end he decided not to fight that battle without support on his flanks. Maybe that changes now. But it is firmly a political issue for 2020. Obama admin figures are above the law.

Well, he said that we can never allow this to happen to another U.S. President again. Doesn’t sound like someone that merely called their bluff.

That is what I think: Bill Barr, a longtime statist/institutionalist who defended pro bono the Federal assassin (Lon Horiuchi) of an American citizen (Vicki Weaver) - life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is not for the commoners - was put in place to facilitate the brokered deal; the special-counsel part of the coup stopped in exchange for the traitors at the top being spared.

Time will tell - but I have been watching the Potomac Twostep for decades. I knew the UniParty was conducting Kabuki Theater in 1998, and I was right.

(I later learned that Kenneth Starr had blocked Miguel Rodriguez in 1994 from investigating the death of Vince Foster as a murder connected to the Clintons. Starr was a fraud, chosen to play Bad Cop to placate the rubes in the hinterland. Neither he nor Henry Hyde had any intention of removing Clinton - so they kept it to “just sex”.)

These unelected apparatchiks value their institutions and their derived power too much to let the full truth come out that would destroy the very foundations of our Federal apparatus.
