Mueller was probably hoping he could appeal to Trump's vanity and get him into an interview where he could catch him in a process crime, etc. Fortunately Trump had good lawyers.

I will never forget nor forgive Trey Gowdy who said if Trump has done nothing wrong, then he should not at all mind talking with prosecutors. I cannot believe Gowdy is that stupid, only disingenuous instead.

Mueller was the cover up. He had to get them through the mid-terms. Ideally they wanted to take both house and senate, but happy they got one. Now the house can investigate and tie up Trump’s agenda.
