Maybe even have a space force military parade on the moon to demonstrate our prowess.

How about a border wall first?

US to Return Astronauts to the Moon by 2024

Buss Aldrin will be 94. Are they sure that's a good idea?

Why the Moon?

How about prioritizing and build THE WALL first.

The US hasn’t launched an astronaut in, what 8 years? If we are going to return men to the surface of the moon in 5 years, I know some programs that are really going to have to step up the pace. The Orion crew vehicle has only flown once two years ago and wont fly again until ???, and even then its next mission is still unmanned. That’s like the equivalent of the Apollo command module. We have nothing but paper design of a lunar lander.

Space is expensive and risky, but for Pete’s sake, get serious or get off the pot.

While astronauts going to the moon is interesting in general, astronauts coming back from the moon alive is of great interest to them and their families.

Goes well with a paper I’m writing for my Spanish class about tending to a radio telescope on the Moon’s far side.

Sounds like a NASA program getting started in the second W term. Was working on a lunar equivalent to GPS for the guys to navigate with.

Øbowel canceled it and I sad F'it and retired.

It’s been 50 years since Neil Armstrong first stepped on the moon!

And they did it with slide rules and electro-mechaical technology!

50 years!

So apparently a return is not a pressing agenda item.

Why not just wait another 50 years and make it a 100 year anniversary trip?

In the meantime use the money to build a border wall and pay down debt.

Not possible.
NASA doesn’t even have Orion “man rated” and there is no lunar lander design in the works.

Why not just plan a trip to Mars instead? We should have been there also by now.

Anyone want to bet whether NASA is capable of putting a man on the moon within 5 years? They tested Orion 5 years ago. At the rate they’re going they won’t have but one more test by 2024.
