Trump says Mueller probe was an 'attempted takeover of our government'

President Donald Trump railed against special counsel Robert Mueller's now-completed investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election on Wednesday, calling it an "attempted takeover of our government."

"We can never allow this treasonous, these treasonous acts to happen to another President," Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity, in his first TV interview since Attorney General William Barr summarized the principal findings of Mueller's report in a memo to Congress on Sunday.

This was an attempted takeover of our government, of our country, an illegal takeover," Trump said. "If it were the other way around, where I was doing it to President Obama or a Democrat, it would be virtually the maximum sentence that you can find."

George Papadopolous was on BBC’s Hardtalk with the vile Stephen Sackur today.

Sackur tried the line that Trump claimed there’d been a conspiracy against him by the intel agencies.

Papadopolous tried to tell Sackur most Republican politicians agreed, but Sackur would have none of it. wanted to make out the President is paranoid or whatever.

FakeNewsMSM does this all the time. tries to isolate President Trump.

All I want for Christmas is revenge!

All I want for Christmas is to avoid revenge. I want the globalist thugs who tried to lead a coup against our duly-elected President of the United States to back down and allow us to restore the rule of law without a second civil war. I'm not optimistic, but that would be the best outcome that I can imagine.

What was their plan this time?

Same as last time.

Put in a caretaker President who won't change anything. Find a photogenic and compliant stooge to replace that President in the next election.

Then go big on fundamental changes - and tighten the nooses on the general population so that the Leftist can remain in power forever.

Plans often go awry.

First, they must be rounded up and exiled to some pacific island where they can more or less roam free. There must be a wall there against which some can be stood before they are shot. It might bemoreexpedient to take them to sea and just dump them.

They can mount their legal defense from 10,000 miles away. They must not be allowed freedom within the boundaries of the 50 states.

It is important, extremely important to take away their freedom immediately. That’s not the American way? To hell with them. they forfeited their right to be considered Americans. They lost the war they started. They lost their rights. Let them citch but getthem out of the country

Yes, I want to see executions and or life sentences of people...

Brennan. I know it won't happen, but it would be great to watch him dangle with a black bag over his head.

Was Mueller’s Investigation a Cover Up?

American Spectator ^ | March 28, 2019, 12:05 | GEORGE PARRY

Given that the Special Counsel’s Office did not charge the persons who fabricated and used the Russia collusion fable to undermine Trump’s campaign and presidency, it would appear that, far from being impartial seekers of truth following the trail of evidence regardless of the political consequences, they were a get-Trump lynch party that simply ran out of rope.

Team Mueller’s authorized jurisdiction encompassed the genesis of the eponymous Steele dossier and its nefarious use by Comey’s FBI to undermine Trump’s candidacy and, failing that, to undo the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. The FBI and Department of Justice’s unprecedented abuse of official power based on the Steele dossier — a political dirty trick that will go down in history — raises far more vital and immediate investigative and national concerns than Russian hackers and social media operatives who will never see the inside of an American courtroom, Paul Manafort’s financial crimes, or the individuals charged with process crimes.

Did Team Mueller investigate or interrogate Christopher Steele, Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS, or the Clinton campaign and DNC operatives who paid for the dossier?

Did the investigation delve into the FBI and Department of Justice’s use of the dossier to obtain FISA warrants to intercept the communications of Trump campaign associate Carter Page? Did they investigate those who drafted, verified, and submitted the misleading and false-by-omission FISA applications?

Did they investigate or question former FBI Special Agent and Team Mueller staffer Peter Strzok, former FBI lawyer and Team Mueller staffer Lisa Page, former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, or other government officials to determine if they or anyone else participated in an effort to spy on the Trump campaign or to overthrow the Trump presidency?

It’s not so much treason but more a case of sedition.

Perhaps, but it's splitting hairs at this point. A grammatical distinction without a difference.

These people's loyalties are not to another sovereign state, but to a set of ideals that are at complete odds with our constitution, our history, our common culture, the law, empirical truths, and our very existence.

They've now acted upon those loyalties, and those actions were treasonous, in my opinion.

Had Hillary gotten the nomination in 2008, I wonder if we’d now be two years into an Obama presidency.

I doubt it. Had Hillary won the nomination in 2008, there's a very good chance she would have beaten McCain in the general.

From that point forward, she and her cronies would have done so much damage to the republic, we'd probably be in the midst of a civil war right now.

The 2016 election would likely have been cancelled, and she'd still be serving as interim president under martial law.
