President Donald Trump exceeded his authority when he reversed bans on offshore drilling in vast parts of the Arctic Ocean and dozens of canyons in the Atlantic Ocean, a U.S. judge said in a ruling that restored the Obama-era restrictions.
U.S. District Court Judge Sharon Gleason in a decision late Friday threw out Trumps executive order that overturned the bans that comprised a key part of Obamas environmental legacy.
Presidents have the power under a federal law to remove certain lands from development but cannot revoke those removals, Gleason said.
The wording of President Obamas 2015 and 2016 withdrawals indicates that he intended them to extend indefinitely, and therefore be revocable only by an act of Congress, said Gleason, who was nominated to the bench by Obama.

I thought the “irrevocable acts” bit was a thing that only monarchs did.
If a prez does it a prez can undo it.

Is this what passes for legal reasoning these days? Obama passed an executive order, and therefore it becomes the permanent law of the land unless Congress votes to revoke it? Is this specific only to Obama's executive orders, or does this judge believe Trump can also issue executive orders which must last forever, unless revoked by Congress?

Nope! Democommie prez’s can do it. America loving prez’s can’t. See how that works?

Since one President’s decisions cannot be undone by a successor, it’s imperative that Trump make every possible decision under the sun ASAP so his legacy will be sealed in cement forever. He could start by abolishing the federal judiciary.

At this point we might be better off with a Monarchy. The Authoritarians we have now are insane, and active enemies of the Nation.

Judges make policy decisions so frequently and casually one might assume it’s part of their it’s part of their constitutional authority. Judicial restraint is nonexistent.

Reading decisions like this makes me recall the movie, The Patriot.
Remember how Colonel Martin taught his sons and men to shoot the officers first?
At the outbreak of CWII, we will need to teach our children and men to shoot the judges first.
