Swiss model of a large conscript infantry works only in Switzerland. They have a very advantageous situation of being so mountainous that they can easily destroy the key roads, bridges and tunnels and force the enemy to be only infantry too ... with the Swiss guys knowing the terrain and their infantry being built knowing there is no armor or arty against them.

None of this works in the flatlands.

“None of this works in the flatlands.”

General Yamamoto would disagree.

“Swiss model of a large conscript infantry works only in Switzerland.”

In the lead up to the US Civil War both Britain and France were contemplating their options with regards to invading and conquering the United States. The author Peter G. Tsouras did quite a bit of research on this.

When the US and CS mobilized millions of men in a very short time and then equipped them and sent them to war the whole thing stunned the Europeans who did not believe that a mostly agrarian nation could transform itself so quickly.

After the war when the US threatened France over their invasion and effective annexation of Mexico the French military blanched at the realization that Mexico was wholly untenable against a nation that still had millions of experienced combat veterans.

The Swiss model would still work here and inculcating generations of young men with military traditions and instilling in them the eternal values of manhood would go a long way to restoring our culture.
