Fixed it for you. It is called supply and demand.
Fixed it.
You do realize that lettuce costs .25 to pick and pack. You could increase wages drastically and it would only translate to a few pennys on the dollar at the market?
So you think a picker at $30.00 would pick one pint per hour? Really?
Don’t play their game. When they say $30.00 come back and say why not $50.00? Why not $100.00/ pint? Show them how ridiculous they are.
I dont buy produce grown in Mexico. This time of year you can still find tomatoes that are grown hydroponically, as well as other produce grown in the same manner. Will buy produce grown in CA, but am increasingly leery.
>>>There is no job Americans won’t do - for the right price. Work visas are welfare for corporations, with American workers getting stuck with the bill.
Apparently, they won’t work for the Trump Organization. They have been using H2Bs at their resorts for years.
And? You are aware there are far more jobs going unfilled than the visas will take care of.....right?

Every work visa represents a job not taken by an American, contrary at least in spirit to the President's previous words about 'hiring American.'
Do most visa workers just blend in and never leave?
Do most visa workers just blend in and never leave?
Many do.
Then it should be discontinued!
Still gotta look at the fact that there are a ton of available jobs with no takers....there really are jobs Americans just won’t do....the Left has made it so a whole couple generations prefer to beg for alms because we made the alms too generous....can only hire American if Americans want to be hired...
at the wages currently being offered.

The answer is not to depress Americans' employment and wages with foreign workers.
So, how much are all them empty jobs supposed to be worth? The “at those wages” meme falls right into the minimum wage of $15 and even higher meme.
Meaningless question - the only meaningful ones are: how much is an employer willing to pay to have the position filled rather than unfilled, and how little is an employee willing to accept to do the job rather than not do it. The answer to the latter appears to be: not as little as is currently being offered.
The at those wages meme falls right into the minimum wage of $15 and even higher meme.
Opposite - some employers' apparent sense of being entitled to get employees (American or foreign) at low wages is a close parallel to some employees' sense of being entitled to some minimum wage. "At those wages" is simple supply and demand.
I guess if MacDonalds starts paying $20/hour, then they might be able to hold more people...of course, higher wages to pay folks more than they’re worth also causes inflation...many entry level jobs are lower because the return for the employee is not enough to justify higher wages...reminds me of a story:
A man was interviewing for a job at a country store and the prospective employer said he seemed OK so he could start the next day to see how he worked out. The prospective employee asked how much the job paid. The employer said, “I’ll pay you what you’re worth.
The employee said, I can’t live on that.”
Fact is that entry level should be lower and let those who show some work ethic move to higher, better paying positions/status. Claiming it’s mainly stingy employers is a cop out.
Straw man - nobody here supports paying folks more than theyre worth, but I and others do oppose bringing in Third World workers in order to avoid paying Americans what they're worth.
Fact is that entry level should be lower and let those who show some work ethic move to higher, better paying positions/status.
Temporary visa workers can't move up the ladder - only Americans can do that, if not blocked from those lowest rungs by foreigners.
