Smallville actress Allison Mack has pleaded guilty to charges related to her involvement with a controversial self-help group described as having a secret society of “masters” and sexually subservient “slaves” within it, PEOPLE confirms...

What are the charges? Getting other girls to worship a cult leader? That's not illegal. Being a masochist? That's not illegal. "Following" a guy who is a criminal? Not illegal. I look forward to learning what the charges are. Time and again we see "RACKETEERING" when prosecutors can't get a case for anything else. It's RFK's magic: "Racketeering," and you bring anyone down by association.

C'mon Freepers!

(already mentioned) Taking a womans passport and locking her in a room for 2 years. Um. Slavery. Unlawful detention. Kidnapping.

...The 42-year-old defendant also admitted during the proceeding to being a member of Nxivm’s secret inner organization, DOS, which prosecutors have accused of starving and branding women....

Violation of prior consent agreement.

A prior business venture of Raniere’s, Consumers Buyline,[13] was accused by the New York Attorney General of having been a pyramid scheme; Raniere signed a consent order in 1996 in which he denied any wrongdoing, but agreed to pay a $40,000 fine and to be permanently banned from “promoting, offering or granting participation in a chain distribution scheme”.[18]

Um. Blackmail. Prostitution

...Starting with an October 2017 article in The New York Times, details began to emerge about DOS, a “secret sisterhood” within NXIVM, in which female members were allegedly referred to as “slaves,” branded with the initials of Raniere and Mack, subjected to corporal punishment from their “masters”, and required to provide nude photos or other potentially damaging information about themselves as “collateral”.[28][7][33][34][6] It has also been alleged that members of DOS were forced into sexual slavery.[35][30][36][37][9][38]

Richard Donoghue stated that Raniere “created a secret society of women whom he had sex with and branded with his initials, coercing them with the threat of releasing their highly personal information and taking their assets”, and the FBI’s New York Field Office Assistant Director-in-Charge stated that Raniere “displayed a disgusting abuse of power in his efforts to denigrate and manipulate women he considered his sex slaves”.[6]

The additional charges against Keith Raniere, 58, were revealed hours after Nancy Salzman, the co-founder of the Albany-based group known as NXIVM, pleaded guilty to a charge of racketeering conspiracy.

Federal prosecutors said in court papers that Raniere, who was known inside the organization as “Vanguard,” engaged in relationships with two underage girls, including a 15-year-old.

“The government has images of the 15-year-old, “constituting child pornography, that were created and possessed by Raniere and electronic communications between the victim and Raniere reflecting their sexual relationship and indicating that it began when she was fifteen years old,” prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn said in court papers filed Tuesday.”

Child pornography.

I know, you responded above Golux.

Just so you can both get somewhat up to speed. There may have been something about some of the women being sent to other places and prostituted out, but I am done researching for the night.

From another source about Nancy Salzman:

"In court, Salzman, who was revered in the organization as "Prefect," admitted she wittingly took part in what federal prosecutors have described as a criminal enterprise engaged in identity theft, computer fraud, immigration schemes, money laundering, sex trafficking, sexual exploitation of minors and kidnapping plots."

"I still believe some of what we did was good," the 64-year-old told a federal judge in Brooklyn as she pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy.

Big disconnect from what the Feds say she did and what she actually pled guilty to. Seems there has to be more to this, than this.
