Surprisingly clean for a Netflix show I also thought the cma award shoe was more wholesome than usual.

Hamer said, “I hate to bust a cap on a woman, especially when she was sitting down, but if it hadn’t have been them, it would have been us.”

Not at the time of the Barrow/Parker shindig. He was working for the head of the prison system in Texas. The book is very much worth the read as it deals with far, far more than the Barrow/Parker killing. It reaches back to Hamer’s youth and is very well sourced.

Posted claim was first time in history and these state enforcers crossed into Louisiana to lie in wait for their ambush. To make it clear they were outside of their jursidiction when they killed this nasty pair.

And Woody Harrelson is still a horrible person who has gone to battle against the death penalty and fought for his hitman daddy who murdered a judge (among others).
Don’t buy the hype. F-netflix.

I have been told that the lawmen were in anguish over killing a pregnant woman. The location where it happened is just down from an overpass on I-20 at Arcadia.

Yep. The fourth member should have been Hank Williams, Jr.

😹. Yup. Minimal cussing and I didn't see any glbtqxyzrpg encounter. So, for nutzflick, pretty clean.

Yes, yes it was. Artistic license? Yes, but they got the period “feel” just about perfect. Just like the Depression-era migrant camps and the small-town scenes in Texas and Louisiana - dead accurate.

That books sounds like a worthwhile one to put on my list. Of course, in the new film, Hamer and Gault are shown as *former* Texas Rangers, but that designation was clearly something that had defined their lives and they carried that identity regardless of Ma Ferguson having disbanded the organization. That's one of the points of the film, IMO. Clearly the author felt the same way; the book has "Texas Ranger" right in the title.
Also... politicians hobbling law enforcement - sounds familiar.

Negative, Kris was good in the band and a great friend of Cash.

I started that book and found I was unable to put it down. Three days of reading and researching the citations given. An eye opener as to Texas history and Hamer’s role in the events mentioned. Kindle version available with photographs.
