AG William Barr: Democrats' Worst Nightmare
pjmedia.com ^ | APRIL 9, 2019 | ROGER L. SIMON, co-founder and CEO emeritus of PJ Media,

Though they were excruciatingly obnoxious to William Barr at Tuesday's House Appropriations subcommittee hearing, Democrats would be well-advised to lay off the attorney general, maybe even treat him with kid gloves, because he holds a good deal of the future of their party in his hands. In fact, he is positioned to make that party bleed as perhaps no one in history. And it only makes it worse that he is clearly such a straight shooter.

The big story from Barr's testimony was not that the AG plans to release a redacted version of the Mueller report within a week or even that those redactions will be color-coded four ways and annotated to explain the reasons for the edits. Or that Democrats like Nita Lowey whined about transparency with all the hypocrisy only a politician can muster. This is all pro forma and predictable.

The big story was his affirmative answer to a question about whether he was planning to investigate the provenance of the Russia probe itself. That would, of course, include the FISA court scandal and the Steele dossier, not to mention strange--let's call them spooky-- occurrences in the UK well before the election.

Barr noted he also would look at the eight criminal referrals of DOJ personnel and others coming from Devin Nunes. He further noted we could expect the inspector general's report on these matters in May or June. He was filled with such news, much of it spontaneously given.

Perhaps even John Huber will surface (chuckle).

IOW, Barr's obviously paying attention and that is bad news indeed for Democrats. This is particularly true because the Mueller probe did not come up with any crimes connected to Russia collusion, but even the beginnings of an investigation of what prompted the probe in the first place has already come up with several.

More are undoubtedly coming. Is it an accident Judicial Watch was finally able to uncover "422 pages of FBI documents showing evidence of 'cover-up' discussions related to the Clinton email system" just the other day? Or does it have something to do with the installation of Barr? Impossible to know at this juncture, but what is clear is we will be dealing with this a long time, all the way, it's quite likely, to election 2020. For the Democrats, this is the original "be careful what you wish for," especially if the investigation leads where many think it will--to the top of their party.

Not that Barr does not have an extraordinarily delicate situation of his own. He sits there redacting the Mueller report with Rod Rosenstein and Robert Mueller himself, both of whom would be under scrutiny in the wider investigation.

It's enough to give a sane man the willies, but Barr appears up to the task. After all, as many have noted, he did not need this job. As a previous AG, he had nothing to prove. He also, apparently, was no special fan of Trump's. So something must have concerned him enough to want to do this. From the unflappable and admirable way he has been handling himself, the best guess is that it was the suborning of justice in our country at the highest level that drove him to volunteer for this onerous task.

If I'm right, and correcting this massive malfeasance in the DOJ and FBI (with obvious encouragement from "upstairs") is what he's after, we should all be behind Bill Barr with all our might. He's going to need everyone's support.

Time to break out those thousands of sealed indictments...gradually over the next year and a half.

Hopefully we will see if there are laws against an illegal corrupt attempt to overthrow a sitting President.

Barr is a lot like Trump in that regard. Trump certainly did not NEED to be POTUS. He took the job to try to save the Republic. It would seem Barr has the same motivation. Both are exceptional men. Thank God we have them at work on this. I cannot imagine living with the pressure of so many people in the country out to destroy you every minute of every day.

So far Barr is working out very well, from all outward appearances. He seems a straight shooter who wants to do the right thing with regards to the law and won’t suffer fools around him. That’s all I ever ask of an AG and yet we haven’t had that in 10 years or so, just political hacks who have distorted our justice system into a weaponized secret political police.

I said on another thread he reminds me of those big fish that sit boringly at the bottom of the ocean and unceremoniously devour everything that comes near.

He's absolutely massacring them - in a very droll, ordinary way...lol.

It's enough to give a sane man the willies, but Barr appears up to the task.

In a senate hearing this morning, some demonRAT female bitch axed Barr, "You don't really mean that Trump was actually spied on"?

Oh yes, and I'm gonna get all the pricks that did it.

At this point, the emergency medical team was called in the remove the body of the senator.

All of the demonRATs went silent, because they know what this means, William Barr is the modern version of Wyatt Earp and the swamp is Dodge City. Ruh, roh.

Sigh ... when it comes to making the DNC “bleed I’m betting we’ll never really get the axe wielding maniac AG we need, the sort that would read statements about Hillary taking down half of D.C. with her as an opportunity and not a bad thing.

“Time to break out those thousands of sealed indictments...gradually over the next year and a half.”

Yes, it will be “helpful” to the re-election of President Trump for there to be a number of criminal trials concluding just before the General Election with jail terms being handed down! It would “seal the deal” for Comey, Strozk, Ohr, et al to be headed to jail!

For the first time since this illegal coup started against Pres. Trump, I am encouraged.

Anyone notice that Bill and Hilly have disappeared? With their egos, that says a lot to me. I'm thinking they lawyer upped.

He also mentioned the word “intelligence services”. CIA and NSA , hope your houses are clean, cause I’m sure the FBI would like to share the blame around.

MORE CHEERINESS TO COME:

SOURCE: CONSERVATIVE TREEHOUSE ^ | 4/9/2019 | SUNDANCE / FR Posted by bitt
A late day submission to DC Circuit Court in a FOIA case reveals the content of previously unknown James Comey memos.--SNIP--

The entire anti-Trump operation is memorialized in writing:
<><> how Obama's FBI Director James Comey wrote down the sources and code-names assigned;
<><> how confidential sources engaged with FISA coverage initiated by the FBI;
<><> what foreign governments were assisting with their efforts;
<><> and their plans for the phony investigation.

Just wondering:

During the campaign Hillary bragged about "foreign governments" supporting her election.
Are these the same "foreign governments" Comey had assisting their efforts to frame Trump? (smirk)

Inquiring minds want to know.

Not to quibble with your main point which I agree with, but he seems to have the ability to “suffer fools” rather graciously, based on his appearance before Congress. How he sat there and calmly dealt with the garbage they threw out is amazing to me, but that’s probably why he is (twice) AG. He seems to be able to endure the “ridiculous BS” while keeping his powder dray and I believe we will see that none of their shenanigans deter him or change his course one bit.

He sure didn’t need this job. I’ve read that Trump and his people pursued him for a year to persuade him to come back into gov’t service as AG. That would suggest a man who like Trump, is not motivated by power or money, but because he loves his country and wants to right the wrongs that have been done. And he’s in the perfect position to do so.

You are right. Janet Reno literally ripped a screaming child from the arms of relatives at the point of a gun and that's actually not the worst thing she was responsible for. Under Bush if it wasn't about Gitmo or amnesty, he wasn't interested so the DOJ didn't have any openly political people. But Obama, holy cow. Eric Holder started off by refusing to pursue the black panthers for openly intimidating voters outside a polling place, and went downhill from there.

Yes, that's true. On the other hand, Mueller's unethical and amoral attack dog Andrew Weisman was kicked of the investigate about a week after Barr took control, and the report was wrapped up and submitted shortly thereafter. He's ending the political theater and not letting it play out in some grandiose way, just doing it.
