9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals SAYS OKAY TO return asylum seekers to Mexico!

A federal appeals court put a judge's order on hold Friday shortly before it would have stopped the Trump administration from forcing asylum seekers to wait in Mexico while their cases move through U.S. courts. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily blocked the lower court ruling from taking effect. The three-judge panel set a Tuesday deadline for civil liberties groups to submit arguments on why the asylum policy should be on hold and a Wednesday deadline for the government to argue why it should remain in place.
Judge Richard Seeborg in San Francisco ruled Monday to halt the unprecedented change to the U.S. asylum system while the groups' lawsuit moves forward. He said the policy violates U.S. law by failing to evaluate dangers migrants face in Mexico.

He said Central American refugees are gaming the Asylum process because imigrants aren’t assimilating, and they cost $115 Billion / yr more than the taxes they pay.

There are currently 4 vacancies on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for which Trump has 3 nominees pending in the Senate. There are also 24 vacancies at the District Court level in the 9th Circuit.
McConnell really needs to FURTHER accelerate the confirmation process. If the ‘RATS continue to demand the full cloture debate time, make the work evenings 3 or 4 days each week on top of their easy daytime “work”.

Not much of a deluge. The rule change (to limit cloture “debate” to 2 hours) was made April 2nd. Since then, a grand total of 5 judges have been confirmed. They were all Circuit Court Judges confirmed under the new limit of cloture debate to two hours. There were no Circuit Court Appeals Judges confirmed this month. After confirming these 5, the Senate adjourned and went on recess. They’re not scheduled to convene again until April 29th at 3:00pm.
I truly want the “dam to burst”. But let’s be honest, that has not yet occurred even with the rules change.
