A 5-year-old boy who fell almost 40 feet after being thrown over a third-floor railing at the Mall of America on Friday remained hospitalized Saturday, police said.
At a noon news conference, Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said the family of the boy, who remains hospitalized at Children's Hospital Minneapolis, has requested privacy.
The article can’t be read without a subscription. So, I don’t know what it says, but I’m amazed this child survived. Hope he’ll be all right.
Mall balconies always worried me, especially when my children were small. You never know what people might do - like push or throw someone over one.

Anyone who thinks a government agency is going to protect their small children from sick individuals is clinically delusional. This individual and thousands like him have been identified to authorities countless time with nothing but excuses for a response.
Can anyone explain how Megan's Law (warning neighbors of a pedophile in their neighborhood) is anything but your tax-paid authorities telling you that you'll get no protection and the authorities are indemnified because of the warning?
What are they going to call the new set of laws warning you that someone sick enough to try to murder a child is in your neighborhood?
The kids who are being abuse are not the ones being helped by ‘child protection’.
They only go after deadbeat dads and protect mothers o matter how crazy.
I know about this first hand. Despite having a mental diagnosis and previous history of child abuse and neglect the courts went out of their way the make sure the mother got to keep custody.
Thankfully God intervened and I got to raise my kids alone for the last 15 years.
I didn’t mention Child Protection Services.....the point is again Parents need to be parents and stop beating on their kids.....others need to stop pampering kids and creating the entitlement classes we see today.
Frankly most people are not born with mental illnesses.....they are more times than not created within bad family dynamics.

It is too bad that when nothing else works finding something important and taking it away is a powerful motivation. You usually only have to exdcute a few examples to make a lasting impression.
Some people have no regard for kindness or others so you have to punish them.
