“” “” There were no maps of Moscow printed in the days of the cold war. “” “”
I heard it before but it is an urban myth. You can easily find scans from detailed maps of Moscow online.

That’s one link to maps of Moscow printed since 1796, Cold War period included.
Theirs?
Or ours??
Ah; theirs....
Oh?
The roads change less out there than in urban areas.
That's pretty much what the investigation found in the official report, and why both Captains and a CINC-PAC FLEET admiral was fired. Some enlisted were discharged. However, it looks like the Navy is trying to cover for the two female officers on the Fitzgerald.
I saw this coming when they were talking about billeting women on combat ships and another reason I didn't do my 20 years after serving 11 years. Got out as an E-6. Big disappointment since I wanted to make Chief Petty Officer (CPO), not to mention I was losing pride in my Navy.
