I knew a man who was born in the DRC (Congo). He once told me everything he had to do to get out of there. His education took place in a wooden building with no glass in the windows and a dirt floor. French nuns helped him to apply to French universities; he did not tell me if they helped pay the bribes to the Congolese officials to get the paperwork he had to have to get out of the country. He eventually got a Ph.D. and then came to the US to do a post-doc.
He literally had nothing as a child and accomplished so much. Yet African-Americans whove had so much given to them and so much opportunity instead choose to keep living in slums (and complaining) because doing anything that might lead to success is acting white.
African Americans? You mean black people, right?
