Just tell them there are no Guns at Home.

Just tell them nothing on that topic. The "correct" answer to certain official questions should be obvious.

And remember: "Anything you say can and will be used against you".

I do find they are a bit prescription-happy. I do not like pills so this is an irritant. I suspect it is a dodge against malpractice: We prescribed all sorts of stuff, not our problem he croaked.

They prescribe pills because it is cheaper than actually doing something. I had Kaiser for years while working, I had excruciating back pain, their answer for when i was so much pain I couldn't get out of bed? Tough it out, it will pass.

After the company I worked for went belly up and no one would hire me I qualified for Medi-Cal and they sent me to pain management, after xrays the Fr. was so concerned he sent me for MRI, the damage to my back and neck were so severe I had two major surgeries within two years one lumbar and the other to replace four cervical disks. Nice going Kaiser! Tough it out they prescribed................and the worst part is I paid them for that wonderful medical care.

As a reminder, the second sentence in my Post.

>>>You keep them all in your Car or on your Person<<<

I thought I was being facetious or at least a bit amusing.

How about this. You tell them it’s none of their business what God Given Constitutional Rights you exercise as a Sovereign American Citizen.

My understanding is obamacare requires certain questions...

There is a morass of bureaucratic interpretation of ambiguous policies with no basis in actual laws. What is "required by law" will depend on who you ask. For the most part these are local progressive fashions which are justified by a claim of a higher authority that demands them.

Any official questions regarding mental health or state of mind should be answered carefully or not at all. It is definitely not a good time to indulge oneself in a reply with a sarcastic or ironic statement or an attempt at comedy.

In this forum, (Free Republic), it is still safe to do that. Not so much at a doctor's office.

I thought so too. And I liked your answer. But I would never give that answer to a doctor if I were asked that question.

There are too many tripwires in the system that can cause authorities to take potentially adverse actions against patients. I have seen a few of them in action, fortunately not targeted at me. I can learn from other people's mistakes cheaper than making them myself.

Time to adopt the “Don’t know Nuthin about Nuthin” frame of mind. It works well for a segment of our Population.

“Any official questions regarding mental health or state of mind should be answered carefully or not at all.”

Agreed. There was a time when medical records were on printed paper in a filing cabinet and kept in strict confidence between the med folks and patient.

In today’s digital world, they can be easily accessed by just about any agency authorized or with hacking abilities.

With anything at all related to mental health now being associated with 2nd Amendment rights, the safest thing to do is as you said.
