“there’s a quick way out of your misery!!”
Actually, I watched “arsenic and old lace” recently, and I looked up arsenic and cyanide and strychnine and it was fascinating how they work. Essentially starving cells of oxygen, at least one of them. I forget which.
I’ve no idea if they’re natural or man made and where ANYONE who has used it, gets it!
Don’t want to.
"Cyanotic blue"
One of the funniest movies ever. Carey Grant at his comedic best.
Neither are natural but its easier to synthesize strychnine than cyanide. Back in the day I played with sodium cyanide to case harden metal parts. Put the part in a crucible, toss in the cyanide, heat over a blow torch till straw colored.
Toss into cold oil to quench. Do NOT breath the fumes. OSHA would have shut us down in a half a heartbeat if they saw it.
Those were the days.

I think I read somewhere that one of them you can distill from daffodils.
Cyanide is the oxygen binder. Strychnine causes uncontrollable nerve firing, causing convulsions.
