Fort Lee, in Prince George County, Virginia, United States, is a United States Army post and headquarters of the United States Army Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM)/ Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE), the U.S. Army Quartermaster School, the U.S. Army Ordnance School, The U.S. Army Transportation School, the Army Logistics University (ALU), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), and the U.S. Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA).

The long-term physical improvements that proceeded at a steady pace at Fort Lee over the last half century received a major boost when Congress passed Base Realignment and Closure legislation in 2005. The installation was given an important new mission – establish a Sustainment Center of Excellence that would serve as a focused training base for military supply, services, maintenance, munitions and transportation.

ftlee4

In 2017, Fort Lee marked its Centennial with a year-long celebration themed "A Century of Support to the Nation."

Fort Lee also hosts two Army museums, the U.S. Army Quartermaster Museum and the U.S. Army Women's Museum. The Army's Ordnance Museum relocated to Fort Lee in 2009–2010 and has plans to return its collection to public display at Fort Lee. The fort is named for Confederate General Robert E. Lee. Fort Lee is also a census-designated place (CDP), with population of 3,393 at the 2010 census.

April 16

Celebrating Creativity

Bible in a Year: 1 Samuel 30–31; Luke 13:23–35

God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures.” Genesis 1:20 A rarely seen jellyfish waltzed with the currents, four thousand feet deep in the ocean near Baja, California. Its body shone with fluorescent shades of blue, purple, and pink, bright against the backdrop of black water. Elegant tentacles waved gracefully with each pulsing of its bell-shaped hood. As I watched the amazing footage of the Halitrephes maasi jellyfish on the National Geographic video, I reflected on how God chose the specific design of this beautiful, gelatinous creature. He also fashioned the other 2,000 types of jellyfish that scientists have identified as of October 2017.

Though we acknowledge God as Creator, do we slow down long enough to truly consider the profound truth revealed in the first chapter of the Bible? Our amazing God brought forth light and life into the creatively diverse world He crafted with the power of His word. He designed “the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems” (Genesis 1:21). Scientists have discovered only a fraction of the wondrous creatures the Lord created in the beginning.

God also intentionally sculpted each person in the world, giving purpose to every day of our lives before we drew our first breaths (Psalm 139:13–16). As we celebrate the Lord’s creativity, we can also rejoice over the many ways He helps us imagine and create with Him and for His glory.

By Xochitl Dixon

Today's Reflection

What creative gifts has God given to you? How might you use them for His glory?

Actually only a couple of hours to go:

“This year, Tax Freedom Day falls on April 16, or 105 days into the year. In 2019, Americans will pay $3.4 trillion in federal taxes and $1.8 trillion in state and local taxes, for a total bill of over $5.2 trillion, or 29 percent of the nation’s income”

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Did you and Gizmo have a grand time at the lake? Did he chase the geese again or did you go to a different area where there aren’t any to tempt him?

Well, we had the park to ourselves but then he saw a pickup truck driving in and decided he wanted to chase it. Thankfully, he didn’t get too far and I caught up with him.

Howdy, EGC! (((hugs)))

All is well here. It's kind of cloudy and breezy, but feels good at 68°. I wish it would stay at this temp range, but by Saturday it'll be in the 90s. Phooey! LOL!

Hope you and Gizmo 🐾 are enjoying some nice weather so you can have a nice romp at the lake. Sorry part of your fence blew down It's a wonder ours didn't. Hubby has it propped up with wire, pipe and whatever he can find. Maybe windy season will be over soon. We can hope, huh!

Goood mornin', Early Birds!
Hope all of you are enjoying the road trip!
Virginia is beautiful in Spring.
Is it pretty where you are?
Are the flowers bl🌺🌼ming yet?
They are here and it is cheering.
The trees are actually making shade now.
Which is good, because it's getting warm!
Y'all have a Terrific Tuesday!
(((hugs)))

Tomorrow we have a risk for more severe weather. We’ll see what happens. Yes, I did fix that fence from those winds. Hopefully the windy season is over but you never know.

Hate to hear that. I hope they are over-hyping the forecast and that it’s not too bad. Y’all be safe and dry out there!
