Looks like the Frenchies were well-prepped for such a scenario. While everyone yelled at them for not putting out the first fast enough, they had busy little bees moving stuff out the back. Thank you Lord!

Decision time. Do you:

a) Put your fire crews on a fire where odds are AGAINST containment?, or

b) Put your fire crews in a human chain to take as many relics to safety as possible?

Looks like they chose b).

The French have had a lot of practice at saving precious things, starting with 1870, 1914 and 1940. Good for them. At least someone was NOT asleep at the wheel.
