That's exactly my point. This was all nothing but an excuse for them. Congress wasn't going to do any of those things anyway.

Congress would have had to do more if this whole charade didn’t exist. Trump had great poll numbers and that would have allowed him to greatly pressure Congress to do more.

I don’t think you get what the rest of us are saying. We know Congress didn’t want to do these things. That wouldn’t have mattered if Trump was at 60+% in the polls and had no albatross around his neck from Sessions/Deep State/Russian issues.
