“Even more amazing that you’d have Trump scrambling to find a replacement Attorney General (in addition to a replacement NSA) in his first 100 days in office.”
A red-herring. Trump had the ability to replace Sessions at any point that was convenient. He didn’t have to act within the first 100 days.
“How many cabinet level officers had even been sworn in by the time Sessions recused in early March 2017,”
All of them except Perdue at Agriculture and Acosta at Labor.
“Congress wasn’t going to recess for months, so that option was off the table.”
And your evidence that Trump himself considered it “off the table” is exactly nothing. The Senate recessed in August 2017. Had Trump been itching to replace Sessions he had the power to do it.
“Trump would be at a huge disadvantage trying to choose a replacement from the professional ranks at DOJ, which were chock full of his enemies.”
Yeah, because out of the thousand or so GS-15s Trump wouldn’t have been able to find a single one who would have worked out. Of course that’s exactly what he did when he appointed Matt Whitaker.
“is simply a reflection of your own poor judgment.”
Those whose own thinking is filled with weak arguments probably shouldn’t resort to ad hominems. Just a helpful suggestion.
Lol...when you begin a discussion by calling those who disagree with you "clueless", don't be surprised when they respond by suggesting you have "poor judgment".
But I suppose having a 'weak argument' is better than having none at all...so I'll take it.
Meanwhile, stop blaming Trump for that horrid little DC swamp creature Jeff Sessions.
