I used to hug people, but I don ‘t anymore. Just my wife.

This could have been written in the USSR in the 1920s. Every psychotic whim of the revolutionary socialists is taken as gospel. The hell with this snowflake.

Here is what Mona Charen ( a WOMAN ) wrote in an article for National Review:

SOURCE: https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/04/joe-biden-touching-social-norms/

(EXCERPT)

There is a wealth of psychological literature showing that skin-to-skin contact is critical for the normal mental development of human infants. All but the most fragile preterm babies do better when cuddled in their mothers’ arms than in incubators. Studies have shown that babies in Romanian orphanages who were provided with nutrition and clean diapers but were rarely held or spoken to, grew into emotionally stunted children.

In childhood too, physical contact is critical for children’s well-being. When fathers roughhouse with their young children, the kids are better able to regulate their emotions, including aggression, and are found to be more popular with their peers than are children who lack this kind of play.

Our need to touch and be touched never subsides. Chronic loneliness has been found to be as harmful to health as smoking. Studies have found that hugs don’t just relieve stress and release oxytocin (the bonding hormone), they can also reduce susceptibility to the common cold, lower blood pressure, and diminish pain. And when humans pet animals, both experience physiological benefits. Even just holding hands with a loved one while enduring a painful medical procedure has been found to make the experience more bearable. When close couples hold hands, their heart rates and brain waves tend to synchronize.

Most of us just aren’t designed to live the kind of solitary lives that excessive entanglement with technology is encouraging. We are social and also tactile creatures. Our recent social trend away from marriage and toward silicone companions is the equivalent of taking people away from a roaring fireplace surrounded by loved ones and placing them in solitary steel and glass pods. Let’s not lose sight of our affective natures even as we police the excessively handsy among us.

Another piece of crap put out by the overrated and glorified blog known as “Hotair”

Allahpundit it’s blogmaster is a never Trump idiot and most of it’s writers are lucky to be on target 50% of the time.

I wish the mods would quit allowing this crap to be posted anywhere but in the blog or chat sections as it’s certainly anything but news.

OK, could you kindly tell me exactly what part of this article is crap? Other than of course your dislike of AllahPundit.

BTW, if you want this site permanently disallowed in FR, I suggest you contact the mods and see what they think.

Other Freepers are more than willing to engage with the articles in this site.

For now, since you call this article crap, the least you could do is tell us why.

It gets complicated, because it isn't enough to hear what these 'women' have to say.

They want to be 'affirmed.'

It’s noted that none of the children that Joe is feeling up are mentioned in the article or anywhere else for that matter. The real crime is the children he is molesting that have been glossed right over (I’m sure quite intentionally) to make it look like it’s an entirely different and innocuous thing. Keep that in mind the next time you come to Joe’s defense.

All this talk of Biden and these women just covers what I think is more important than the women being molested by Biden...The women are adults and can just turn and slap the shit out of Biden...

What bothers me is that it has effectively stopped most of the talk about Biden molesting the children...THAT is much worse than with these women...

Just my opinion....

I’m quite sure if someone slapped Biden they would be in a jail cell sooooo fast.... It’s not like the old days when you could do that.

In some of the videos, you can see some of the women or girls squirming away, but this does not stop him as it would a normal person.

I wonder of it might not be closest to bullying. For one thing, he kind of seems to be saying to the men: I am so much more powerful than you are that I can do this freely with your wife/daughter.

I am tired of hearing people relate this to hugging. He is totally “taking liberties,” caressing and breathing in like that.

I don’t think if a woman slapped him for what he does would go to jail...A husband or boyfriend, yes, but not the lady...

“...if you want this site permanently disallowed in FR”

First, where did I say that?

Second, the author is spinning Biden’s actions as completely and totally innocuous which is an assumption that many clear thinking people including myself are not prepared to make.

Third, nuzzling, hair and necks, kissing, inappropriate placing of hands, sniffing body areas etc. are creepy at the VERY least and hardly require Ms.Flores to “address the cloud of suspicion” which has engulfed Mr. Biden.

It’s a tortured defense of a behavior that I would question regardless of who was the perpetrator of it.

Mix Andy Warhol and Trump for those 15 minutes. You can grab a lot of them if you spread them out. Get slapped a lot too.

RE: First, where did I say that?

Well, I’m glad that you did not say that, but you did mention AllahPundit ( who isn’t even the author of this article ).

My request is that if you disagree with an article and think it is crap, please direct your arguments against it instead.

RE: It’s a tortured defense of a behavior that I would question regardless of who was the perpetrator of it.

I believe you ought to give the author a little slack here because he is asking a pertinent question — How do you differentiate creepy behavior and a harmless sign of affection?

What he is questioning is this -— we have reached a point where even harmless signs of affection are now being equated with sexual molestation.

Can we kiss babies anymore?

This has reached a point where even Mike Pence cannot have dinner with a woman who is not his wife and a poster saying that he used to hug women affectionately but does not do it anymore.

We have in effect, become a society of suspicious people who question everyone else’s motives because of what the #MeToo movement has done.

Thank you - that's exactly right. What is offensive is someone of power taking advantage of someone of lesser power - be that "other" a child or a woman.

In essence, Biden's not much better than King Louis XVI in "History of the World"

Were Biden an average Joe (pun not intended) with no power per-se, the woman or the parents of the child would likely react, giving him a slap, or if the child's father was present, a punch in the nose. Since it's being done by none other than the Vice President of the United States, it's sloughed off as "Joe being Joe". And since no one has ever taken Biden aside to correct him on this, he's likely unaware of it as bad behavior.

“How do you differentiate creepy behavior and a harmless sign of affection?”

As I stated in the previous post; It requires a tortured rational to classify the listed behaviors that he has exhibited to COMPLETE STRANGERS as “harmless sign(s) of affection?”

At best it’s a very suspect lack of judgment, at worst....
