Aopears to me that the Steele Dossier was Russian interference in the election, and Democrats colluded with them to interfere.
Why is this topic never approached from that obvious angle? Never mind, I know the answer, but it’s patently obvious.

Tablet Magazine identified the rumors in the dossier as coming from Glenn Simpson and wife when they worked for the Wall Street Journal and Trump was a New York developer with rivals, not concerning politics directly. Those rumors are what the Free Beacon bought.
Steele was a cover story so a FISA warrant could be obtained because the same info was ‘foreign intelligence sourced’.
Once they spied, the Coup spun normal Russian outreach that’s done to ALL top pols in the US a s something unique to the Trump campaign.
One could certainly say that the NYT has a firm grasp on the obvious, suddenly discovering facts that have been perfectly clear for over two years. However, they’re still spinning it like the hundred mile path of a tornado in Kansas. They’re still hanging on to the few last threads like “the Republicans paid Steele first”, Trump aides “welcomed” Russian contacts, or Russia “favored” Trump to win. The truth, however has blasted them between the eyes like a baseball bat, and has exposed them forever as Fake News. The once great Gray Lady is dead, and will soon be cremated, along with the droppings on the bird cage.

RUSH: You know, that’s a great way of looking at this. This is the Steele dossier 2020. The Steele dossier was totally made up, and look what we got out of it. So here comes the Mueller report: The Steele dossier 2020. In fact, I have here footnote 112. This is a footnote about the pee tape from the report. This is the golden showers story where supposedly Trump found out he was sleeping in the same bed Obama slept in and called somebody to get some prostitutes over there to pee on the bed.
“Comey’s briefing included the Steele reporting’s unverified allegation that the Russians had compromising tapes of the president involving conduct when he was a private citizen during a 2013 trip to Moscow for the Miss Universe Pageant. During the 2016 presidential campaign … Michael Cohen received a text from Russian businessman Giorgi Rtskhiladze that said, ‘Stopped flow of tapes from Russia but not sure if there’s anything else.’”
It goes on to say that Rtskhiladze said that he was told the tapes were fake but he did not communicate that to Cohen! Now, that’s not the point. The point is that right here: In footnote 112 of the Mueller report (I think it’s page 27), they acknowledge that the pee tape story in the dossier was fake. They used it to get a FISA warrant and three renewals to spy on the Trump campaign, while even in their report they acknowledge that it was fake.

There is nothing wrong with trying a little more carrot and less tick with a foreign contender, no? The NY Slimes advocated that for the USSR when it was the USSR, starting in the 1920s.

The Free Beacon had nothing to do with the dossier. The Free Beacon has said on the record that they hired GPS to do background research on all the GOP candidates duri g the primaries but it had nothing to do with the dossier. They said that their contract was over before the GPS dossier was even started.
Some of them not only knew what it was, they helped create it.
I suspect that we will learn that Steele did little other than allow his name to be slapped on it to hide its provenance.
