First RG, about that knee....

dang if I didn’t bang my knee against the legs of a metal chair to a pain that had me screaming.

The knee would not function for almost a week, pain...pain...and more pain.

At this point in time it’s almost completely healed but RG I never knew a knee could cause so much hurt.

Allow me to add, on a personal note, my battle with the detour from hell.

We’d known about the detour for several weeks..”Route 9 will be shut down from here to here from.....to .....” the signs told us.

I wasn’t crazy about it because when Sussex county Delaware puts up a detour it will always be messed up. Then there’s the country roads with no lights and corn fields with strange children walking around within.

That detour, ....let me catch my breath...is 27 MILES LONG! THAT’S NOT A DETOUR!! THAT’S A TRIP!!!

My housing community is right in the middle of it. 27 miles, over a half hour to go around a one block construction site.

Jesus, who is risen today, will forgive me. But I cannot go to church this Easter weekend as that detour gives me the heebie jeebies.

I would have went yesterday to the 4pm mass as I usually do. But NO 4pm mass yesterday....only an 8:30 Easter vigil. No way was I going to ride the detour from hell AT NIGHT!

There are no lights on the roads and don’t forget those spooky cornfields. I don’t drive at night at this point in my life and....well just no way.

I could go to a Sunday morn mass but I am having company today and do not have time.

Here’s hoping my Lord and Savior forgives me.

That detour is the stuff of nightmares.
