President Donald Trump tweeted Monday that he will not nominate businessman and failed 2012 GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain to the Federal Reserve Board.

"My friend Herman Cain, a truly wonderful man, has asked me not to nominate him for a seat on the Federal Reserve Board," Trump wrote. "I will respect his wishes. Herman is a great American who truly loves our Country!"

Just watched a speech by Milton Friedman where he pointed something out about the Fed. He says as far back as you can look, during good times the Fed explains how their policies have resulted in the good economy. When the economy is tanking, the Fed explains how despite their best efforts they were stymied by other factors.

I know that lecture. It is a great one.

Some bimbo came forward and said that she was going to file charges against him for (real or imagined) sexual harassment unless he withdrew from the nomination. I think he wanted to spare Trump the embarrassment that would no doubt come from the resulting clown-show.

It’s an old recycled allegation. This is about none of that. It’s about the GOP not wanting POTUS to have a strong ally at the fed.

I’m sure the wife and family talked him out of it. I don’t blame him.

When Herman Cain ran for President, did any of you believe
the incredible coincidence that Obama’s campaign manager just happened to have a neighbor who had an affair with Mr. Cain?

I never believe in “just happened to be a coincidence”

Notice how Judge Moore elected 8 times suddenly had rape
allegations when Mitch McConnell doesn’t want a challenge to
his being leader after he has done nothing for a decade, and never spoke up against Obama?

GOP is a putrid pile of puke.

Herman Cain would have been so much better than Obama and I think we would have won with Cain and not Romney.

By submitting to these games by the scumbags, we train them in how to defeat us.

We've been doing it for 30 years. I think they're past needing training.

That’s a shame. IIRC, I head some leftist talking head saying that a pizza maker has no business on “The Fed.”

I guess they didn’t bother looking up the fact that Mr. Cain HAS been on the Federal Reserve Board, for the KC Federal Reserve Bank.

Here’s the deal. Both he and Trump knew the risk of doing this. Old wounds from 2012 were going to have scabs ripped off. New wounds would be inflicted as more women could come out the woodwork with real or made up experiences with him. It appears no one thought this one out.

Look what they not only DID to Kavanaugh, but are CONTINUING to do to him. “Believe all women!” Even when they’re lying sacks of dog excrement, obviously.

This just published on the UPI web site:

“Sens. Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, Mitt Romney of Utah, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Cory Gardner of Colorado each said they opposed Cain’s appointment.”

What the hell is wrong with Republicans that we keep electing enemies from within? That sonofabitch Romney couldn’t find the testicular fortitude to stand up to Obama, but he can oppose Trump at every turn.

I gotta be honest ... I find both of these selections a bit mystifying. Herman Cain’s political career came to an end after that last debacle with this woman. And Steve Moore is a smart guy but he carries some baggage as a political advocate (i.e., promoting policies as a Trump advisor that don’t make sense in terms of sound economics) that make him an odd fit for this type of role.

Herman Cain has led an amazing life, truly worthy of praise. He may or may not have been less a saint during the threeyears when he was president of the American Restaurant Association, which events he does not want dragged up again. Whatever happened, I don’t think that is why the Uniparty is so against him.

He wrote an excellent book titled “ The Right Problems: What the President, Congress and every candidate should be working on”. In it he explains why the people in power (Dems,R’s , lobbyists, political consultants and CEOs) do not want change. Even if the laws are terrible, those on the top have learned how to work with them. I highly recommend this short book. The Uniparty does NOT want the real problems in the USA to be solved. They just want to stay in power.
