Where it sets out the qualifications to be President. You meet those and run can run for the office.
Many American Patriots are thinking about picking up a rifle...
The Confederacy has nothing to do wit it loser.
This probably has something to do with the states who are trying to adopt the “winner of the national popular vote gets all our electoral votes” play.
This is nothing but an advanced conspiracy to overthrow the Constitution and our government. A whole lot of folks deserve to be in jail or hung . . . . IMHO
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
Yeah this one is going to end up like the attempt by states to enforce term limits. Constitution trumps state legislation.
The Democrats doing what they did before, the same Democrats who cringe and get defensive when States Rights are mentioned.
Of course when our side brings up States Rights it is Constitutional. With the Rats, not so much.
Whats with the personal attack? Disagree, but calling another FReeper a loser because you do?
Ok, you are not a loser but the issues of 1861 has nothing to do with this stunt.
Too bad the specific definition of natural born wasnt spelled out in the text of the Constitution. Nowadays, illegal Invader Anchor Babies qualify.
I was just making the point that the Democrats who assail the Confederacy take the same States Rights stance when it suits them.
Try explaining the fact that the Civil War did not start as s means to end Slavery to a Leftist snd see how that goes.
Don't try. Not worth the effort.
I utterly hate it when people use ‘populace’ (’the mass of people’) for populous (’having a large population’).
Dann you autocorrect!
You said, :No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
I say, :”Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.”
States, or more exactly their Legislatures, have unlimited discretion as to the process they choose to appoint their electors. This has NOTHING TO DO with the qualifications to assume the Office of President.
remember when it was racist to say a candidate had to present a valid birth certificate?
And their Revolutionary Guard is coming in by the 10's of thousands every month.
Well telling trump that they wont put him on the ballot if he doesnt give them his tax returns seems to have nothing to do with the Elector in the specific case. It wouldnt matter how the elector is selected by any state legislation because Trump wouldnt be on the ballot for them to make a decision if these states got their way
I doubt that those states can disenfranchise a large portion of their voters... obviously SCOTUS would have to handle the challenge.
What is more apparent is the determination of the Democ🐀s to overthrow our system of governance!
There is nothing about voting for President in the Constitution.
True, but there is law about disenfranchising voters; the story mentions two SCOTUS decisions on this matter.
