Ernst did mention that “…living in the city of L.A. or the county of L.A., we have to understand we probably have some of the wealthiest communities in America, and with that comes a certain amount of political power.”
He went on to address that requests from politicians or high-profile residents should not become a “primary mission” and that these high-profile or wealthy residents making requests of firefighters are often normal during these situations.

when it comes to wildfire, there should be no political influence. The primary mission is to get the fire out and get the firefighters out alive and in one piece. Rich people have rich insurance anyway.
With all the rain and super growth of the vegetation there’s gonna be some huge fires when everything dries out and the winds start blowing. Then we’ll hear the old climate change crap again.
We drove CA88 from Stockton to Gardnerville, NV today. Around Kirkwood, the snow along the roadway was12 feet high! And it’s turned warm, so it’s melting. I suspect there will be flooding before the wildfires this year.
This happened during hurricane Katrina where some politician had the national guard drive him to his home in flood waters where he retrieved lots of cash. Bribe money.

If the fire chief can’t handle local elected officials making inquiries on behalf of constituents, the city needs a new fire chief. What a whiny little baby.
That is how it is set up in most cities. Obviously this fire chief has not done his job to make sure lines of communication are set up.
I remember when Hastert defended Jefferson, that it had to be because Hastert himself had skeletons in his closet. Little did we know.
