President Trump tweeted Saturday that Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano met with him and urged the president to nominate Napolitano to the Supreme Court, as well as grant a pardon to one of the judge's friends.
Napolitano, a former superior court judge in New Jersey, currently works as a legal analyst for Fox News. In a pair of tweets Saturday evening following his campaign rally in Green Bay, the president accused the commentator of becoming "very hostile" after Trump supposedly turned him down for the nation's highest court.
"Thank you to brilliant and highly respected attorney Alan Dershowitz for destroying the very dumb legal argument of Judge Andrew Napolitano," Trump wrote.
"Ever since Andrew came to my office to ask that I appoint him to the U.S. Supreme Court, and I said NO, he has been very hostile! Also asked for pardon for his friend. A good 'pal' of low ratings Shepard Smith," the president added, referring to the afternoon host of Fox's newscast that has often been critical of the White House.
The White House did not immediately return a request for comment on when the conversation with Napolitano occurred, or to whom the Fox News commentator had supposedly asked Trump to pardon.
Trump frequently showers praise on Fox News figures that are seen as allies of his administration, including Dershowitz who has frequently defended the president amid the now-concluded investigation into Russian election interference and his campaign.
Its been clear exactly what and who Napolitano is for awhile now,
real piece of work,
In the beginning, I thought much the same thing, only to find out that he had a legit reason for doing/saying what he did. Whether it was a feint or doing what he could to get back on topic or to sweep the legs out from an adversary, he’s pretty much been right, every time.
I’m overseas and not an avid watcher of Fox, anyway, but I for darned sure do not listen to Napolitano anymore. He’s been wrong about so much. And it seems like he’s always trying to play both ends. And with the release of the mueller birdcage paper, he’s been running his mouth that there just might be a way to impeachment for obstruction, if I’m not mistaken. So, something tells me he drew first blood and the President is responding to it.
Napolitano is a creep, ala,Joe Biden,he would be shining shoes at Grand Central station if Fox wasn’t trotting him out to spew his nonsense
President is seriously right about Napolitano.....
.....Nap doesnt miss a moment to run him down.......constantly!
Its not occasional......its always!
Trump acts like the New Yorker he is. I dont criticize people for behaving in a manner that is consistently who they are and always have been
You want Trump to be something he is not. Thats not criticism thats nuts
Now lets talk about policy
180
I campaigned hard for President Trump too!!!!......so that doesnt give you the right to call him childish
Good mercy, Nap was unleashed!......Whenever he appeared I knew it would be something negative for Trump coming out of his mouth!
That would explain Napolitanos recent hostility. Id like to see Napolitano replaces on Fox by Alan Dershowitz. At least AD is consistent with his application of Constitutional law to his opinions.
“I just realized that nearly everyone that gets turned down by Trump becomes bitter and angry.”
He turned down Romney too...and Romney showed us who he really was.
If Nappy really did that, FOX should FIRE him!! He’s always wrong anyway! Shep is UNWATCHABLE!
For all of you knuckleheads who are criticizing PDJT for tweeting this or others, catch up!!!
Nap is against PDJT and therefore against YOU...
Catch up!
He has sold us out! Thus, he is the enemy so stop defending him as a friend...friends don’t stab friends in the back.
Figured it was something like this when, overnight, this guy because anti-Trump. No honor to him.
Yeah, because democratic presidents don't get anything but LOVE from all the media, and Republicans are supposed to just bend over and take the fake news attacks by all the other urinalists...
Ouch.
This is hilarious.
It is probably for this:

I wonder what the outcome of the case was?
How friendly are Shepard Smith and Judge Napolitano off work I wonder.
FRiends are FRiends. Pals are Pals. Buddies sleep together.
Yeah, you know the definition of a “buddy”.
Whatever the details may be, there's no denying that we witnessed a significant change in Nappy's attitude toward the president.
“Napolitano has made plenty of positive comments about the President too...”
You haven’t been paying attention. Napolitano has been noticeably and exclusively negative on Trump since Fox sidelined him in March of 2017. Probably about the time that Trump turned him down
And Dershowitz albeit a liberal is an honorable one that is consistent with his commentary. I would trust Dershowitz one helluva lot more than Napolitano as the one has core beliefs although misguided, the other, none.
“Why would he say that about Nap even if true”
Even when Nap loudly proclaims Trump’s actions are damnable?
You need to read some American history and find out what other presidents have said to and about their opponents.
And it is a mark of the human race for a person to hit back when hit.
When you don’t answer a matter such as that, people think that you don’t because it is true.
