And it’s not just that gun ownership isn’t open to everybody, it’s that it’s not open at all. The Hugo Chavez regime banned private gun ownership in 2012 after a rapid rise in gun violence, mainly in Caracas. The ostensible reason for the ban was to respond to public outrage over the increased crime, but eventually the regime would have found a way to ban people from possessing firearms, with this very day in mind.

Two quotes in order here:

1- This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector.- Plato

2- Ideas are far more powerful than guns. We don't let our people have guns. Why should we let them have ideas? - Josef Stalin

“I’ll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands”

The original version did not originate with the NRA, but with another gun rights group, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, based in Bellevue, Washington.

wiki is often unreliable, but this works for me.

There is no record of Comrade Stalin saying that. It sounds like something he might have said, but you know what Lincoln said about quotes on the Internet.
