A hearing on a request for a special prosecutor in the Jussie Smollett case quickly switched its focus Thursday from the Empire actor to the judge on the bench.
The proceedings grew unexpectedly heated when Sheila OBrien, a retired appellate judge pushing for the special prosecutor, filed last-minute paperwork suggesting that Cook County Judge LeRoy Martin Jr. recuse himself from deciding the issue because his son has worked as a county prosecutor since last year.

Martins son, LeRoy III, who has been with the states attorneys office since April 2018, works as a prosecutor in the juvenile court.

In the long run, Jussie Smollett isn’t finished, by any means. He got away with something big, his career is in real trouble, and evil always overreaches. He’ll up the ante, don’t worry about it.

Its Chicago, of course the fix is in. Black liberal defendant, prosecutor and judges. The fix has be in since the minute Juicy was charged. We know how this ends but it has been fun to watch.
It is deeper than the story reported. LeRoy Martin Sr. the Judge’ Father is the Retired Chicago Chief of Police. The family is more connected than Jesse Jackson.

Why bother? If corrupt Chicago can get away with letting this hate crime go unpunished then nothing else will happen.
