Barr is a professional intel/law enforcement type. Barr wants to rebuild the reputations of the Intel Community, DOJ and FBI. Which is why I believe Barr accepted the AG job. He is a career DOJ man, he loves that agency the way I love the Navy and Corps.

IF Horowitz did his job, some heads could role and internal reforms will be made. That is generally the purpose of an IG to internally identify abuses or systemic problems and prevent them in the future. This may satisfy Barr.

IF Barr cannot complete reforms internally based on the Horowitz report, he may call for a Special Counsel to force Congress to act and depoliticize, by law, our intel and law enforcement agencies. Trump may force the same.

The wild card will be the FISA Court Judges, no matter their politics, no judge likes to have his court and authority abused by anyone. If the FISA Court abuse was systemic during the Obama years, a Special Counsel may be called for. Don’t hold your breath, the Obama WH would end up as a target. Before that happened the Dims will suddenly be for new rules to reform the court and prevent its political weaponization. If this happened, there will be a sacrificial a$$, my guess is Lynch or Rice.

The only other situation where I can see a Special Counsel would be the Mueller Investigation. There is another report coming down (according to Hannity) that MAY state when Mueller knew there was NO collusion. If they knew six months in, what were they still investigating? They were guilty of fraud, waste and abuse to try and set a perjury trap for a sitting President.

My thoughts I may be 100% wrong.

A lot of words to describe an unlawful conspiracy to overthrow the legitimate government of the USA. No one who really understands the full implications of the attempted coup cares what Barr desires or believes. This is completely beyond his purview.

Treason is not special or unique; it's as common as death and taxes. It is the universal constant among all systems of government experienced throughout the ages. The contest for power, control and wealth is nothing more than a manifestation of the constant competition over scarce resources. Some conflicts are external in nature; we call these wars. Others just happen to be internal - different targets/adversaries, same objectives.

So, if treason isn't unique, then that would suggest there's a pretty routine process of dealing with losers, amirite? This then is the true crux of the issue - not personal objectives (Barr et al), not institutional reform, not government oversight. No, the one and only issue is the punishment to be meted out to those who attempted to rob the People of their voice by stealing power through force & fraud.

Tradition holds that the perpetrators must be put to death. I challenge anyone to point to any time, any instance where the penalties are less than capital punishment. Therefore, if any of the conspirators are allowed license to live, then we can just close shop today. There is no point in further defense of the republic, because patriots will have signaled that they conceded.
