Yes, but it wasn't the Republicans that conspired to falsify FISA court documents, tap opposition phone lines, and put spies into opposition campaigns.

Too much abuses of power and attacks on the Constitutional order took place to sweep it away as "bygones."

This would be like the Democrats and Republicans agreeing to let the Know-Nothings go because there were people on both sides who wanted Lincoln gone.
