Bible in a Year: 1 Kings 2122; Luke 23:2656
Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. Isaiah 55:3 I peeked over the grape-stake fence that encloses our backyard. There I saw folks running, jogging, walking, and shuffling around the track that surrounds the park behind our home. I used to do that when I was stronger, I thought. And a wave of dissatisfaction washed over me.
Later, while reading the Scriptures, I came across Isaiah 55:1, Come, all you who are thirsty, and I realized again that dissatisfaction (thirst) is the rule, not the exception in this life. Nothing, not even the good things of life, can fully satisfy. If I had strong legs like a Sherpa (mountain-climbing guide), there would still be something else in my life that Id be unhappy about.
Our culture is always telling us in one way or another that something we do, buy, wear, spray on, roll on, or ride in will give us endless pleasure. But thats a lie. We cant get complete satisfaction from anything in the here and now, no matter what we do.
Rather, Isaiah invites us to come again and again to God and the Scriptures to hear what He has to say. And what does He say? His love for David of old is everlasting and faithful (v. 3). And that goes for you and me as well! We can come to Him.
In what ways are you thirsty? How can knowing God is faithful help you today?
Good evening, Janey ((HUGS))...too cool. What a fun day for you.
Hi Everybody!

Nice day today. Things are nice and green and sunny.
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...is it still raining? Did you and Penny get out for some fun time?
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
Howdy, radu! Hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend! Has the weather been pretty?
It was here. We have been promised rain for the past few days and haven’t even gotten a sprinkle. Darn it!
Woohoo, the sun is out!!!
Hope that the snow is gone forever until next winter.
Howdy, LUV!
It was a quiet day and that was most welcome after yesterday and last night.
The day started out cloudy but the skies cleared in the afternoon and it was quite pretty. Just a little cool with the stiff breeze blowing.
I wish some of that promised rain would move across your area. You need it so badly.
Be glad you aren’t in KS tonight. I checked the radar to see what was showing and thee are tornado warnings. Of course, that meant pulling up our favorite storm chasers and one’s about to be in the thick of things.
Howdy, Kathy.
Has it been a restful day, other than doing laundry?
There’s a load in the washer here right now while I play on the ‘puter. :-)
I do need to check on those storm chasers. They were around this area last night...well, north of us in the “Panhandle”.
Glad you had a nice day and especially that the sun was shining for you!
I don’t know that it’s worth your time to watch this storm chaser. He’s one I haven’t watched before but he’s the only one streaming right now and he’s doing a terrible job of it. He’s around Wichita and they’re getting hammered and we haven’t seen much in the way of the lightning and such. Had several minutes looking at the front of a convenience storefront and now he’s parked in front of a building with a lot of trees behind it and can see little of the sky. Now he’s moving again. Dang, he stopped again with a big tree directly in front of him.
He seems to be a bit of a chicken and if you’re scared, don’t be a storm chaser.
It was nice to see the sun again after yesterday, most definitely. We’re good until Wed. when we have 4 or 5 days afterwards of rain. :-(
