A staggering 87% of migrant families who crossed the border in recent months are failing to show up for their deportation hearings, a top ICE official told Congress on Wednesday.
Nathalie R. Asher, the acting chief of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s deportation branch, said those numbers come from a new pilot program in 10 cities where her agency has tried to speed hearings for new migrant families that have shown up at the border this fiscal year. ICE and the Justice Department tested out a last-in, first-out model in the pilot program, hoping to see if faster deportations could stem the flow of migrant families.
Instead they found a massive rate of people ignoring their obligations, Ms. Asher testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“Family units are not appearing in great numbers,” she said.
If they don’t appear for their hearings they are ordered deported in absentia - though the government has few resources to go out and track them down, leaving almost all of them free in communities.

The waiting time see a judge is to give them enough time to procreate an anchor baby.
If you or I don’t show up for a court date, an unfavorable ruling is automatic. Why can’t illegal aliens get the same treatment? No show = automatic deportation, no appeal.

I've been advocating LIFO hearings for a long time. The problem is we need to do it without releasing these illegals into the general population. Hold the hearing immediately - the same day they are apprehended - then deport them all (or at least the 99% who can not prove a valid claim).

Rarely is this brought up. It’s Known As Reciprocity. We should be treating anybody illegally crossing the Mexican border into the US the way the Mexican’s do treat any American illegally doing the same.crossing into Mexico. Entry denied, fined, and possible imprisonment, then deported .
It’s time we consider illegal entry by any person who is a non Mexican citizen illegally entering the United States through the US Mexican border a defacto Mexican citizen with limited Mexican constitutional rights subject to their laws while transiting. As well as any Mexican citizen entering illegally exempting those who do so legally and meet US citizenship requirements.
Democrats with their open border jingo bingo should not be allowed to allow to pervert the concept of sovereignty get twisted into being propagandized as “White Nationalism”. Use of that term is usually directed when the immigration issue is brought up to devalue of the protections an American citizen have by being one.
When allowing the hordes illegally entering the US through the Mexican border avoid recognizing and dealing with the 2nd class treatment that American citizens get while legally residing in Mexico which not just includes denial of voting privileges but employment, and land ownership in their name. All of which when given to illegals and property ownership by them is used in territory of states which Mexico reclaims as theirs claims which we have been ignoring but could be problematical should any reclaiming effort by regime changes in Mexico arise , Our border with Mexico has always been contentious, those barriers are a must .
Today’s so called democrats insist Americans must allow illegals storm in here by the hundreds of thousands despite their cost to us citizens. Claiming benefits are cheap labor which winds up removing PT job opportuities for citizens including teenagers and full time work for blacks. That open door sanctuary policy is suddenly requireing billion$ in tax dollars,which is never enough.
Tax money that should be going to our citizens for their sustenance,health,education,and housing even infrastructure are being diverted to illegal’s needs. But Americans must do the tax flagellating punishment because we’re the very rich United States and must divert those billion$ to fill the needs of those poor illegals plus give them the right to vote. Sustained by our tax money which our children’s children if not aborted will be paying for
Americans legally in Mexico Besides being unable to vote one must also be a citizen to own land and Mexico is very restrictive about granting citizenship. Because of that a US citizen besides not being able to vote,and cannot have title in their name to any land property in Mexico.
And until that is changed the US and the affected state should consider making that reciprocal. Prohibit any illegal entrant employment, voting, and land ownership privileges fully enforced .In other words Sneak into this country before expulsion no job no voting no landowning ..
Pull the funding for welfare, and other social give-away programs and fund search and detain teams to find these scofflaws and bring them to the nearest airfield where C-130s can airlift their worthless asses back to the hell holes they came from.
And by the way, put a tatoo on the back of both hands to readily identify them as deported.
THis is one of the things the democrats refused to fund.
Anyone who ever lived in CA or AZ could have told them that 20 years ago.

The guy had met his wife in El Salvador and was in the process of divorcing. The officer declined Burgos’ offer and reported the event to the OPR.
