Two, the 2020 progressive agenda -- whether defined as the Green New Deal, a wealth tax, Medicare for All or open borders -- will not compete well with Trump's currently booming economy. Impeaching Trump for collusion and obstruction is seen by progressives as the best (or perhaps only) way to return to power. That effort so far is failing, causing even more hysteria.
Three, the Mueller investigation is over, finished after 22 months, $34 million and a 448-page, two-volume report.
There will be no indictments of Trump for either collusion or the obstruction of justice during the investigation of that non-crime. So now what?
Since late 2015, Trump, as the supposed Russian puppet or the Machiavellian obstructer of justice, was nightly cable-TV news fare. Now, such fantasies are shattered. But progressives are not willing to let the Mueller investigation rest in peace and move on with their lives.

Their real problem is the ongoing civil war between old guard Dems who want to repeat the Clinton triangulation strategy and amped-up young Marxist True Believers.
Democrats are acting daily to cause trouble and keep their base engaged.
Meanwhile Trump is running out of time.
Indictments better happen very soon or it will be too late.
Too true. I don’t see them as facing a bleak future at all - they’ve successfully impeded Trump at every turn and brought chaos to the legislature. Indictments of the conspirators behind their actions will be the only thing that can halt this.
That’s obviously what they’re afraid of, and it’s one of the reasons they’re ramping things up now.
2020 victory is NOT a given.
I second that! Been sayin’ that on here that we should be vigilant and talk to family and friends about voting and taking everything very seriously. The future of our republic depends on us.
In a sane world, VDH would be 100% correct, as he pretty much is, all the time. But the US isn’t living or operating in one. The Democratic Party will resort to some of the most blatant and corrupt voter fraud to ensure that President Donald Trump loses next year. They will dare the people to rise up with armed rebellion. That is where this is all headed, unfortunately. There is no way for the two sides to ever coexist, unless the stay in their cities and the rest of us stay outside of them and they don’t try to impose their will and insane ideas on the rest of us.
